Grandma's Banana Bread

This is my special treat from Grandma's house from when I was little. It's also a darn good way to use up bananas that have gone south.

1/2 c. margarine

1 c sugar

2 eggs

2 c. flour

1 t. baking soda

1/8 t. salt

1 T. sour milk (I never have this either, so I use milk with a squirt of lemon juice, and it comes out fine.)

1/2 c. chopped nuts (I don't actually chop them. I smack them with a rolling pin.)

3 mashed bananas

Cream the butter and sugar together. Beat in 1 egg at a time. Mix or sift dry ingredients and beat in. Add nuts, milk, and bananas. Pour into greased, floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to one hour.

Freezes well.
