Stan and Judy like to do this hike through Tennessee Valley in Marin, ending up on the beach. So off we went, with carrots and celery and water bottles and cameras.

Here's Mark, Timprov, Stan, and Judy as we start out our walk.

Timprov took the high road, and we took the low road, so he got to the big rock afore us.

As we walked through the valley, we kept seeing flying things: redwing blackbirds, and turkey buzzards, and these marvelous little blue and black butterflies.

Maybe the little spots on the wings are more visible in this picture. I hope so. They were breathtaking. We also saw a deer, off in the distance, but it didn't hold still and let us get close like the butterflies did.

At the end of the trail was the beach.
